I'm Gargi Joglekar — founder, designer, and the person who runs the whole thing.
I built this business at the intersection of business and art, which is unusual, and it's exactly why clients hire me.
I hold a degree in Business Administration alongside a degree in Interior Design — so when I talk to you about budget, timeline, or scope, I'm not guessing. I'm giving you the same clear-eyed read I'd want if I were the one writing the checks. Transparency isn't a value I put on a website; it's how I was trained to run a project.
The other half is self-taught: I've worked in oils, pastels, and charcoal for most of my life, and that's where the confidence in my color and pattern work actually comes from. It's not a trend I'm chasing — it's how I see a room.
After several years with a respected New York design firm, I brought that combination to Tampa Bay and started Modern Design Homes in 2018.
I now work with homeowners in Tampa Bay and Central Florida's most exclusive waterfront and gated communities — people who want a home that looks like no one else's — and I work alongside architects, builders, and contractors to make sure the interior vision holds up all the way through construction.

Inquiry call + Initial Visit + custom proposal
We start with a real conversation — your goals, your budget, your timeline, how you actually live day to day. This isn't a sales call. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
Design Creating + Design Presentation
I build out a full concept — mood boards, material palettes, space plans, custom selections — and, on full-service projects, a 3D rendering so you can see the finished room before we order a single piece.
Procurement Process + Design Implementation
I handle sourcing, ordering, delivery, and installation — including access to an international vendor network for pieces you won't find anywhere else. You walk into a finished room. That's the whole job.
